Saturday Driver CPC in Glasgow: Emergency First Aid – Classroom Training

Sat 11th March 2023 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

£70.00

Course Description

The Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is required by all bus and truck drivers. You must complete 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years to keep your qualification valid.

You can check how much training you have to complete by registering online for access to your account – click here.

A wise way to complete your training is to sit one course every year. This helps to spread the cost, means less time off the road and enhances your knowledge on an annual basis.

This course will be delivered by our expert trainer, Danny Courtney.

The content delivered on this course will be:

  • Emergency First Aid

Conducted by a fully qualified and approved First Aid trainer, you are given an introduction to First Aid in the workplace which aims to develop your awareness of medical conditions. Involving presentations and role play, you will cover casualty management, dealing with wounds and bleeding, circulatory and breathing disorders, life saving techniques and assessing emergency situations.

What You Can Expect

Registration begins from 8:30am with your course scheduled to start at 9:00am. There will be two 15-minute breaks in the morning and afternoon, and a 30-minute lunch interval. Lunch and refreshments will be provided for you and are included in the price.

The course will contribute 7 hours towards your Driver CPC periodic training requirement.

Our courses are interactive and are composed of presentations, exercises and video clips. There are short question papers at the end of each module to confirm knowledge transfer – these are not ‘exams’ and your hours will be uploaded irrespective of your score; they do help us identify areas where our courses need more work, however.

The First Aid module involves some practical demonstrations of CPR techniques and bandaging wounds.

Your course certificate will be e-mailed to you upon completion of the course. Arrangements can be made to post out your certificate, if preferred.
