With the Driver CPC periodic training deadline approaching this coming week, the DVSA have moved to clarify procedures for drivers who may still be awaiting delivery of their Driver Qualification Card (DQC).
Strictly as an interim measure, enforcement officers can confirm whether a driver’s DQC has been issued via the DVLA. This will be used in the short-term only and going forward, if a driver does not have a DQC in their possession whilst driving professionally, they could be liable to a penalty. Please note that this period of leniency is unlikely to extend any further than one week.
If you have not received your card within the stated 20-day period or have doubts over whether a course has been uploaded, we would recommend checking your online training record which you can do by registering for the service here. A password will be sent out to your home address and once received, you should input this along with your driving licence number to access your account. If you have completed training with us recently or in the past, we can register you for this facility – just give us a call and we will be happy to assist.
Having dealt with a number of enquiries especially over recent months, there are a couple of common explanations for delays in receiving your DQC. If you don’t hold a photographic licence and only possess an old type paper one, your DQC cannot be issued. Additionally, your card will not be issued if you are a foreign driver who has yet to fully exchange your licence for a UK version – even if you hold a UK counterpart, your card will not be produced until you have a UK photo-card.
If you have any concerns relating to your training, feel free to contact us for some complimentary advice.

Our final courses before the deadline take place on Monday 8th September 2014 and Tuesday 9th September 2014. We are currently working through a significant backlog of course paperwork and if you have completed training with us recently, we apologise for any delay in getting your post-course documentation to you. Be assured that the delay does not extend to the upload of course information – all training hours have been uploaded and will be visible on your online account.
